The Indian River Shallow Water Flats
Fishing Around The Lagoons In Central Florida
Friday August 18, 2017
Fishing in shallow water is nothing new on the Indian River Lagoon, but it's often overlooked by the vast majority of anglers. "When I was a kid we simply waded the local lagoons for sea trout, redfish and other Florida gamefish. It often surprised me to see large fish in ankle deep water while wading and swimming around my home", says Captain Richard of Lagooner Fishing Guides.
Don't be surprised to see big sea trout caught in less than one foot of water in any of our lagoons, the biggest trout like the shallows, while the immature ones seem to lurk on the edge of deeper grassflats and dropoffs. Redfish can school in the ocean or inches of water in the shallowest lagoons and anglers should often look to the skinniest water for these crustacean munching gamefish.
Shallow water fishing can prove to be a great way to spend the day on the Indian River Lagoon when you're visiting Florida. Come explore the backwaters of the Space Coast and it's famous fishery with Lagooner Fishing Guides on your next adventure with Captain Richard Bradley.

Excellent experience with Captain Richard! He made it fun for the whole family even though my wife had a bit of the demon. She still had a blast and Capt. Richard put us right on the fish even when the other fishing charters were struggling to catch fish.
